This heater shield is crafted from a single slab of polished obsidian that seems to pull the light from the air around it. Its surface is not truly solid but a churning vortex of solidified shadow. Fine silver filigree along the edges forms ancient runes of protection, and the center is set with a large, dark sapphire that pulses like a dying star.
