Bone Bastion's oldest passages were built with traps too elegant for ordinary soldiers to maintain, so the castle learned to maintain them itself. The marrow hulk is one of its answers: a hulking mass of animated ossuary flesh that patrols the angles where doors bite shut and screams echo longest. Some say each one is seeded with the marrow of those the castle has already claimed, making it part victim, part lock, and part warning.
