Little Fade - AI-generated fantasy Monster

Little Fade

Street-folk speak of 'Little Fades' as mischievous spirits that steal to feed their candles. Priests warn that such creatures are fiendish and will return unless their husks are sanctified. Some smiths whisper of a particular Fade who wields a sword-spirit called Rector Flicker.

Wax Form. The Fade is composed of semi-set wax. She is immune to the poisoned condition and disease. She has advantage on saving throws against being grappled and restrained, and she counts as having advantage on saves vs being petrified provided her wax is warm and soft.
Reforming Husk. If the Fade is reduced to 0 hit points, she immediately explodes into boiling wax and flame (see Aftermath). Her husk remains for rounds. If no one sanctifies the husk (see Aftermath), she reforms in the same space with full hit points.
Shadowstep. As a bonus action the Fade can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space she can see. She can use this ability three times, regaining all uses at dawn. She can also use this to move without provoking opportunity attacks.
Cunning Action. The Fade can use Cunning Action: she can Dash, Disengage, or Hide as a bonus action.
Final Burst. When she would be reduced to 0 hit points, she instead drops to 0 and immediately triggers her Boiling Wax Explosion and becomes the husk described in Aftermath.
Multiattack. The Little Fade makes two melee attacks, one with her Blue-Runed Dagger and one with her Silver Carving Knife. If both attacks hit the same target, the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or have a small seam of wax begin to harden on a wound, suffering 3 () ongoing cold fire damage at the start of its turns until the seam is scraped away (an action) or the target succeeds on a Strength check.
Blue-Runed Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 () piercing plus 4 () fire damage. The dagger hums with old runes; on a hit the target's speed is reduced by 5 feet until the end of the Fade's next turn as a filament of wax clings to flesh.
Silver Carving Knife. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 () slashing damage. If used as a bonus action together with the dagger (as part of Multiattack) the attack ignores 3 points of the target's armor (treated as a temporary lowering of AC vs that attack only).
Boiling Wax Cone. The Fade launches a short cone of scalding wax and ember that splashes across a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 18 () fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. Flammable objects in the area that are not worn or carried catch fire.
Cutpurse Sting. The Little Fade uses her quick fingers during or immediately after a successful melee attack to attempt to pick a worn item (purse, small pouch, necklace clasp). The target must succeed on a Sleight of Hand check contested by the target's passive Perception or a Perception check as an action. On a success the Fade steals a small nonmagical object worth up to 100 gp or a small key. If the stolen item is a weapon, she deals no additional effect; if it is a holy symbol or similar religious focus she gains advantage on attack rolls against that creature for 1 minute.
Slip and Return. When an attacker within 30 feet misses the Fade with a melee attack, she can attempt to teleport to an unoccupied space she can see within 30 feet and immediately make one Silver Carving Knife attack against that attacker, provided she has not used Shadowstep this turn.
Cantrips
ShadowstepConjuration Innate teleportation-like shift: The Fade can Shadowstep as a bonus action up to 30 feet, magically teleporting to an unoccupied space she can see. She can use this ability 3 times and regains all uses at dawn.
