The Oubliette Maw

Legend speaks of 'The Floor that Ate the Paladin.' Many dungeon delvers dismiss these stories as parables about traps, but the Oubliette Maw is very real. It is a fragment of the Elemental Plane of Earth bound into a physical geometric shape by forbidden masonry rites.

False Appearance. While the Maw remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal section of floor or a pit trap. A successful Intelligence (Investigation) check reveals its true nature.
Adhesive Surface. The Maw can choose to make its surface extremely sticky. Any creature that starts its turn standing on the Maw has its movement speed reduced to 0 until the start of its next turn.
Structural Bond. The Maw is considered to be part of the building. It cannot be pushed, pulled, or knocked prone by any forced movement while it is on a stone floor.
Multiattack. The Maw makes two Masonry Slam attacks or one Masonry Slam and one Gape attack.
Masonry Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 () bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Gape. The Maw opens its central cavity. Every creature standing on the Maw (a 10ft square) must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature falls into the Maw's gullet and is swallowed. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the Maw, and takes 14 () acid damage at the start of each of the Maw's turns.
Grinding Stones. The Maw vibrates its internal obsidian shards. Each creature swallowed by the Maw must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 21 () slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Snapping Stones. When a creature moves out of the Maw's space, the Maw can make a Masonry Slam attack against that creature with advantage.
