Script-Siphoner Mimic

Legend says the first of these mimics was born when a standard mimic ate a cursed tome of infinite secrets. Now they haunt the great libraries of the world, much to the chagrin of mages.

Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying is not transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Adhesive. In object form, the mimic adheres to anything that touches it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled (escape ). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage.
False Appearance. While the mimic remains motionless in object form, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.
Grappler. The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 () bludgeoning damage. If the mimic is in object form, the target is subjected to its Adhesive trait.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 () piercing damage plus 3 () acid damage.
Inky Blot (Recharge 5-6). The mimic sprays a cloud of magical ink in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature is blinded for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Siphon Script. The mimic targets one non-magical book or scroll, or a spellbook it is grappling. The ink on the pages is magically sucked into the mimic. If the target is a spellbook, the owner must succeed on a Intelligence saving throw or lose the use of one randomly determined prepared spell of 1st level for 24 hours. The mimic regains 5 hit points for every spell level consumed.
Ink Shield. When a creature the mimic can see hits it with a melee attack, the mimic can use its reaction to release a burst of ink. The attacker must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the start of its next turn.
