Foul Frithoff

Local sailors tell of a bosun who kept perfect accounts of every man on board and every lash he dealt. When the Sea Ghost went down, some say he stayed to keep the tally. Stories say that any crewman who misses a tally mark wakes to find a new knot burned into his skin.

Sea-Hardened. Foul Frithoff can move through difficult terrain caused by ropes, rigging, and ship debris without expending extra movement while aboard a ship. He has advantage on checks to maintain balance and avoid being knocked prone on a ship's deck.
Sea Ghost's Chill. Whenever Foul Frithoff hits a creature with Bosun's Pike, that creature takes an additional 3 () cold damage as the Sea Ghost's chill bites into flesh.
Bosun's Whistle (Item). Foul Frithoff carries a bosun's whistle that once per day can be used to produce Shout of the Bosun. If the whistle is destroyed (AC 12, hp 5) he loses access to that ability until a long rest and the whistle's faint magic can be expended to cast Fog Cloud.
Anchored Fury. If reduced to 0 hit points while aboard his ship the Sea Ghost, Foul Frithoff instead drops to 1 hit point and the ship's spectral tide lashes out in a 20-foot radius. Creatures in the radius take cold damage and must succeed on a Strength save or be knocked prone. This effect can only trigger once per day.
Multiattack. Foul Frithoff makes two attacks: one with his Bosun's Pike and one with his Grapnel Hand. He can replace the Pike attack with a Shout of the Bosun if available.
Bosun's Pike. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 () piercing damage. On a critical hit the target is also knocked prone.
Grapnel Hand. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 () bludgeoning damage. If the target is Large or smaller and the attack hits, Foul Frithoff can attempt to shove the target 5 feet and pull them adjacent to him. If the shove succeeds, the target is grappled (escape ).
Shout of the Bosun. Foul Frithoff blows his battered bosun's whistle. Each creature of his choice that can hear him within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Creatures that succeed are immune to his whistle for 24 hours. Once used, this ability cannot be used again until Foul Frithoff finishes a short or long rest.
Throwing Grapnel. Ranged Weapon Attack: to hit, range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 10 () bludgeoning damage. On a hit the target must make a Strength saving throw or be pulled 10 feet toward Foul Frithoff and knocked prone.
Riposte of the Bosun. When a creature the bosun can see misses him with a melee attack, he can add 3 to his AC against that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss.
2nd level
SpellcastingDivination/Transmutation Foul Frithoff can cast Fog Cloud once per day without material components. He can also cast Gust of Wind once per day. He casts these with a spell save DC of 13 and spell attack bonus of +5.
