Appearance
Kestrel Veyr is a lean, long-limbed aarakocra with the silhouette of a hunting bird and the restless posture of someone listening for danger above a storm. His feathers are layered in charcoal, rust, and pale cream, with a ragged white crescent across his throat that resembles a slash of moonlight. One wing bears a patch of glossy black feathers that were never his natural color, the result of alchemical dye used during an old infiltration. His talons are stained permanently blue from years of handling skyglass poison. He moves in abrupt, precise bursts, hopping sideways before turning his whole body, then going unnervingly still. The unexpected contradiction is his face, which looks severe and predatory until he smiles, revealing a small gold tooth and an almost painfully gentle expression.

He wears a close-fitting coat of layered brown leather, cut away beneath the wings and reinforced with strips of flexible brass. A faded red scarf is wrapped around his neck, hiding the white throat crescent when he works undercover. His belt carries lockpicks, folded maps, glass darts, and tiny bells with their clappers removed. His left leg is fitted with a worn courier's anklet bearing the broken seal of the Windward Couriers.
Body Language
Kestrel keeps his wings half-open when tense, as though preparing to catch a sudden updraft. He angles his head sharply when listening, taps one talon against stone while thinking, and rarely turns his back fully toward anyone. When genuinely amused, his shoulders loosen and the black-dyed wing feathers puff outward like smoke.
