Appearance
Sereth Quill is a narrow-shouldered human with a quick, skittish grace, as if he expects every doorway to swing open on bad news. His hands are ink-dark at the fingertips and nicked by old parchment cuts, but they move with exact, practiced gentleness when handling documents. He has a pale face with a perpetually worried crease between the brows, yet a surprisingly warm, dimpled smile that appears only when he forgets to be afraid. His left cuff is always damp from sealing wax, while his right sleeve is neatly mended in three different shades of brown thread. He wears a clerk's coat that is too big in the shoulders and too short in the wrists, making him look like he borrowed authority from someone taller. The unexpected thing about him is that he smells faintly of mint and smoke, because he keeps a sprig of mint tucked in one pocket and a burnt candle stub in another for luck.
“Quiet, precise, and slightly breathless, with the cadence of someone who has spent years reading official notices aloud. He uses careful words when nervous, but when he trusts someone he speaks faster and becomes unexpectedly witty.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin scar across the knuckles of his left hand from a sealing knife
One cuff always darkened by wax drips in the shape of tiny stars
A habit of looking at every document as if it might accuse him
A small brass courier bell tied inside his satchel that never rings when he wants it to
Voice
“Soft, quick, and sincere, with an archivist's careful enunciation that breaks into a rush when he is frightened or excited.”
Clothing
A soot-gray clerk's coat with reinforced elbows, a faded green vest, ink-stained linen sleeves, soft ankle boots for courier work, and a corded satchel filled with wax, scraps, stamps, and folded notes.
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders tucked inward, but when someone vulnerable is threatened he straightens at once and plants his feet like a gate bar dropping into place. His gaze darts to exits and seal rings, yet he leans in curiously when someone tells a story about old roads, hidden rooms, or lost records.
