Appearance
Arvid stands like a carved pillar brought to life, tall and heavily muscled, with the dense strength of a man raised on axes, oars, and winter storms. His dark blond hair falls in several long braids tied with strips of blue leather and small bone rings, while his thick Viking beard is braided at the jaw and threaded with a single silver clasp shaped like a wolf tooth. His skin is weather-worn and ruddy from cold sea air, marked by pale scars across forearms, ribs, and one split brow. He wears practical northern leathers beneath fur-lined mail, all seawolf gray and ice blue, yet his round shield is painted with bright spring flowers in a deliberate act of mourning for the sister he lost. He moves with a controlled, predatory grace, each step economical and balanced, but there is a strange gentleness in the way he adjusts his cloak and touches his beard, as if he were a scholar trying very hard to look like a raider.
“Low, measured, and roughened by cold air, with a voice that can sound like a warning or a promise. He speaks plainly, but when moved, his words become almost poetic in a hard northern way.”

Distinguishing Features
A silver wolf-tooth clasp at his beard
A faint white scar through one eyebrow
A round shield painted with spring flowers over a storm-gray field
A knotted braid of blue leather at the end of his longest hair plait
A missing notch from the tip of his left ear
Voice
“Deep, gravel-smooth, and steady, with a habit of drawing out the first word of a serious sentence as though testing the ice before stepping onto it.”
Clothing
Fur-lined wool tunic, weather-darkened mail shirt, boiled leather bracers, heavy boots with stitched wolf fur cuffs, a sea-blue cloak pinned by a bronze knotwork brooch, and a painted round shield worn smooth at the rim
Body Language
He stands square-shouldered and still when speaking, but in motion he leans forward like a man listening to a distant horn. He rarely fidgets with his hands, preferring to rest one on his shield rim or stroke the braid at his beard. When angered, his jaw tightens before his voice rises, and when worried he looks to the horizon as if it might answer him.
