Appearance
Veyra is a narrow, ash-pale woman whose movements are precise until emotion breaks through, at which point she becomes startlingly birdlike and quick. Her skin has the dry, fine texture of cooled charcoal, with faint silver cracks tracing her wrists and collarbones. Her hair hangs in long black ropes that crumble into soot at the ends, though fresh strands quietly regrow by morning. Her face is sharp and severe, but she has an unexpectedly gentle smile that appears whenever she handles flowers, especially blue field violets. She leaves people with the impression of standing too close to a fireplace in winter: warmth, danger, and the certainty that something has already burned.
“Her voice is low, controlled, and intimate, as though she is speaking beside a sleeping person. Certain words produce a soft harmonic echo, especially the names of places touched by planar instability.”

Distinguishing Features
Silver fissure-like markings across both wrists and her collarbones.
A black crescent scar beneath her left eye that never fully heals.
Hair ends that crumble into soot and regrow overnight.
A small blue crystal fragment embedded beneath the nail of her right thumb.
Her shadow sometimes points toward the nearest planar disturbance instead of following the light.
Voice
“A smoky contralto with a faint second tone beneath it, like a distant singer trying to match her words.”
Clothing
A layered charcoal-gray travel coat stitched with copper thread, a sleeveless violet tunic, weathered field boots, fingerless gloves, and a half-cape sewn from old boundary-marker banners. Small bells hang inside the coat, where they cannot be seen but can sometimes be heard moving against no wind.
Body Language
She keeps one hand near the crystal reliquary at her waist and angles her body as though avoiding an invisible draft. When calm, she stands perfectly still. When lying, her fingers sketch tiny circles in the air. When the shard speaks to her, her head tilts toward empty space and her expression becomes briefly that of a listening child.
