Nemech Vaelor, Keeper of the Quiet Threshold
Lesser Deity
Nemech Vaelor, Keeper of the Quiet Threshold
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Nemech is tall and narrow-shouldered, with the stillness of a statuesque clerk and the unsettling poise of a predator that has learned perfect manners. Their skin looks like pale stone seen under deep water, smooth at first glance but crossed with faint seam-lines that glow softly when they speak. A crown of thin, dark filaments rises from the scalp like ink frozen mid-spray, yet a single loose braid of white hair falls over one shoulder, absurdly soft and human. Their left hand is jeweled with tiny brass rings, while the right is bare and scarred as if it has spent centuries opening sealed doors. They move with precise economy, never wasting a step, but when angered they become unnervingly graceful, almost floating. The most contradictory detail is their expression: an expressionless, almost holy face that is interrupted by a warm, almost tender smile whenever someone makes a disastrous choice.
“Low, deliberate, and beautifully articulated, with the cadence of someone reading a sentence they already know will be true. When angry, their voice becomes softer rather than louder, as though they are closing a door.”

Distinguishing Features
A halo-like ring of faint runes hovers behind them only when they are angry or praying
Their shadow is always a second or two late
Their right palm is burned with dozens of tiny circular scars from ancient sealing rites
They wear one earring made from a cracked temple bell clapper
Voice
“Measured, velvety, and faintly echoing, like a cathedral speaking through a locked door”
Clothing
A layered robe of deep charcoal linen and black silk, stitched with tiny brass sigils along the hems. Over it sits a sleeveless mantle lined in faded crimson, as if once ceremonial and now repurposed for travel. Their belt holds votive cords, wax seals, and a narrow case of writing tools rather than weapons.
Body Language
Still as a closed gate, with fingers lightly touching as if measuring invisible distances. When amused, they tilt their head by a fraction rather than smiling openly. When displeased, they fold their hands behind their back and lean forward just enough to feel invasive.
