Druidic Thornwarden
Maellira Thornvein
Species
Human
Appearance
Maellira of the Ashen Thorn looks as if a forest fire once tried to claim her and failed out of respect. Her hair is a dense black braid shot through with silver-gray strands like singed moss, usually pinned with bits of bark and bone. Her skin is weathered olive with faint soot freckles that never wash away, and her hands are stained dark from sap, ash, and old remedies. She moves with a quiet, deliberate limp that vanishes the moment danger appears, as though pain is a private language she refuses to speak aloud. She wears a paradoxical combination of a priestess's careful stitched robes and a hunter's rough, mud-caked boots, and the contrast makes her seem both ceremonious and feral at once. Her presence smells of rain on charcoal, crushed thyme, and something faintly sweet, like rot turning into life.
“Low, careful, and richly metaphorical, with an old woodland cadence that makes warnings sound like prayers and promises sound like vows..”

A living thorn tattoo wrapped around her right forearm that darkens with her pulse
One ash-gray eyebrow split by an old knife wound
A silver prayer bead made from a seed that never sprouted
Her left boot has a hidden compartment for herb paste and emergency seeds
Voice
“A hushed alto with a smoke roughened edge, becoming unexpectedly warm when speaking of seedlings, old songs, or the dead she still remembers.”
Clothing
Layered ash-gray robes reinforced with stitched bark plates, a green-black traveling cloak, leather bracers wrapped in herb bundles, and mud-proof boots with thorn guards
Body Language
Reserved and economical in motion, with an alert stillness that turns predatory when the grove is threatened. She seldom gestures broadly, preferring small precise motions, except when angered, when her fingers flex like roots searching for soil.
