Appearance
Veyn Arclace looks like a librarian who has been drafted into a funeral procession and never quite dismissed. Their skin is pale gray with the waxy sheen of candle smoke, and their movements are measured, almost ceremonial, except when startled by sudden noise, when they jerk with birdlike speed. Their right sleeve is always immaculate while the left is stained with ink, old rain, and the occasional fingerprint of grave dirt. A silver mask of a half-closed eye hangs from a cord at the throat, never worn in full view, and the strangest thing about them is a cheerful stitched smile sewn into their gloves, as if someone tried to turn a mourner into a puppet and stopped halfway.
“Low and deliberate, with crisp diction and the habit of pausing before names as though consulting a hidden index..”

Distinguishing Features
A silver half-eye mask worn like a pendant rather than on the face.
Ink-black fingertips that never fully wash clean.
A thin white scar crossing the throat, hidden by the collar.
One iris ringed with a faint gold halo that catches candlelight.
Voice
“Soft, papery, and precise, with an occasional crack of intensity when discussing hidden history.”
Clothing
A high-collared charcoal robe lined with faded red thread, soft boots for quiet travel, fingerless gloves, and a weatherproof satchel packed with ledgers, sealing wax, and a travel altar made from a broken drawer handle.
Body Language
Careful and reserved, with hands kept close to the chest unless making a point, then opening one palm like a lecturer revealing a dangerous exhibit.
