Mordren Clyrch
Cleric, Forge Domain
Mordren Clyrch
Species
Hill dwarf
Appearance
Mordren is a broad, compact dwarf with the deliberate movements of a man carrying an invisible burden. His beard is iron-gray at the chin but remains black around the jaw, braided into three square cords bound with copper wire. His hands are heavily scarred, with fingertips polished smooth by years of grinding metal. A pale burn runs from his left temple to the corner of his mouth, leaving that side of his smile permanently crooked. He smells faintly of coal smoke, beeswax, and crushed juniper. His expression is severe until someone mentions a song, at which point his whole face brightens with startling softness. Despite his thick, workmanlike body, he moves almost silently, placing each boot as carefully as a dancer.
“Low, measured, and slightly rough, with clipped consonants and occasional old Dwarvish phrases. He speaks more softly when threatening someone, forcing others to lean closer.”

Distinguishing Features
A crooked burn scar crossing the left side of his face.
Three square beard braids bound with copper wire.
A missing tip on his right index finger.
A blue sash hidden beneath his apron.
A tiny silver bell sewn inside his left boot, though he never explains why.
Voice
“A furnace-low baritone with a dry rasp, as if every word has passed through smoke. His voice becomes unexpectedly gentle when speaking to children, animals, or anyone holding a damaged object.”
Clothing
A soot-dark linen shirt beneath riveted half-plate, a long ocher work apron reinforced with leather, charcoal-gray trousers, and heavy boots with red thread stitched through the soles. He wears a narrow blue sash belonging to his missing sister, hidden beneath the apron.
Body Language
Keeps his shoulders square and his hands visible in conversation. Rubs the copper wire in his beard when lying. During danger, he plants his feet wide and angles his body between threats and the nearest bystander. When genuinely happy, he taps two fingers against his thigh in the rhythm of a hammer striking an anvil.
