Nocthys
Lesser Deity, Veilkeeper
Nocthys
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Nocthys appears as a tall, slender outsider wrapped in a drifting curtain of dusk that never quite settles into a fixed shape. Their skin resembles smoked pearl with faint constellations moving beneath it like slow thoughts. Their hair is long, black, and unusually weightless, floating around their head in thin ribbons as if underwater, while one strand has turned stark white at the temple from some ancient shock. Their eyes are deep violet with silver pupils that narrow like keyholes when they focus. They move without sound, but not gracefully in the usual sense, more like a careful shadow learning the layout of a room. Despite the solemn aura, they wear one startlingly bright copper pin shaped like a sunburst, polished obsessively until it gleams.
“Soft, deliberate, and low, with pauses that feel measured rather than hesitant. Every sentence sounds like a sealed envelope being opened only once.”

Distinguishing Features
A copper sunburst pin that looks contradictory against their grave appearance
Constellation-like motes drifting beneath their translucent skin
A white streak at one temple that never lies flat
Fingertips stained with ink that no solvent can remove
A faint halo of dim candlelight that appears only when they are distressed
Voice
“A hush like velvet over a candle flame, with a faint echo as if speaking from just behind a curtain.”
Clothing
Layered robes of midnight blue and ash gray with hidden inner pockets, stitched seams that form encrypted patterns, and a collar lined with soft black feathers. Their sash is made of pale vellum strips inscribed with crossed-out names, and they wear immaculate gloves even in heat.
Body Language
Still almost to the point of unnerving, with small deliberate hand movements and a habit of tilting their head as though listening to a secret beneath the floorboards.
