Morag Thunderforger
Forge Warden
Morag Thunderforger
Species
Mountain dwarf
Appearance
Morag Thunderforger is a broad-shouldered mountain dwarf with soot-darkened skin, silver hair braided through with copper wire, and eyes that flash blue-white whenever the Emberdeep leyline trembles. Her beard is cropped close on one side and allowed to fall in a heavy, uneven braid on the other, where tiny iron bells have been threaded among the hair. She moves with the careful, measured balance of someone carrying a full crucible, even when empty-handed. Her hands are scarred, callused, and permanently warm. The unexpected contradiction is her delicacy: despite her immense strength, she handles tiny clockwork parts, moths, and wounded birds with astonishing gentleness. She leaves behind an impression of banked heat, ringing metal, and restrained urgency.
“Her voice is low, resonant, and roughened by smoke, with the rhythm of a hammer striking an anvil. She speaks slowly when giving instructions and rapidly when describing a mechanical problem.”

Distinguishing Features
A jagged blue scar runs from her left palm to the center of her chest.
Three iron bells are woven into the long side of her beard, but only one still rings.
Her left thumbnail is made of polished black metal.
A faint smell of rain follows her even in the deepest tunnels.
The thunder-runestone occasionally whispers in a voice that is not her own.
Voice
“A low, resonant contralto with a smoky rasp, like iron dragged across stone and a bell heard through a mountain”
Clothing
A soot-stained leather apron over layered charcoal wool, reinforced iron-toed boots, a weathered blue mantle clasped with a broken bell, heatproof gloves, and a belt crowded with tongs, wedges, chalk, wire, and small hammers
Body Language
Morag plants her feet as if braced against an earthquake. She folds her arms when suspicious, taps two fingers against her hammer when thinking, and leans close when someone speaks sincerely. When frightened, she smiles with terrible calm and grips the thunder-runestone until sparks leap between her knuckles.
