Orun Vaelcairn
Wizard, School of Abjuration and custom necromantic wardcraft
Orun Vaelcairn
Species
High elf
Appearance
Orun looks like a tall, prematurely weathered elven man whose body seems to have been assembled from winter branches and candle smoke. His movements are precise and economical, but his shadow often lags half a heartbeat behind him. His face is narrow, with high cheekbones, a chipped front tooth, and fine silver cracks around his left eye that glow faintly when he casts. He smells of wet stone, cloves, and extinguished candles. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: they are broad, calloused, and scarred like a dockworker's, despite the delicate scholarly life he claims to have led.
“His voice is low, dry, and carefully measured, with the soft rasp of pages turned too many times. He rarely raises it.”

Distinguishing Features
Silver cracks radiate from his left eye and brighten around active magic.
His shadow occasionally turns its head before he does.
Every brass bell on his belt bears a real name from his family archive.
His left sleeve is pinned shut despite his arm being intact.
A tiny black moth lives in the hollow of his collar and emerges when he casts necromancy.
Voice
“A low, dry, measured voice with a soft rasp, becoming nearly inaudible when he is furious.”
Clothing
A layered charcoal traveling coat stitched with pale thread in the shape of constellations, a high-collared wine-red tunic, reinforced gray trousers, and soft black boots. His left sleeve is always pinned shut below the elbow, though he has both arms. A belt of small brass bells hangs beneath his coat, each bell engraved with a dead person's name.
Body Language
He stands with one hand folded over the other as though concealing a tremor. When lying, he tilts his head toward the nearest wall. When genuinely amused, he forgets to blink for several seconds.
