The Triune Reckoning
Origin
The religion began when three ancient powers discovered a slain star-god beneath the first mortal city. Xyrrath declared the corpse evidence of a cosmic crime, Vaulgrin chained its shadow beneath the earth, and Seraketh swore that the unknown murderer would one day suffer. Their shared oath became the foundation of the Triune Reckoning.
Cosmology
The universe began when Xyrrath pronounced the First Sentence over primordial chaos. Vaulgrin forged that sentence into chains, binding the worlds to consequence, while Seraketh spilled the first divine blood and taught mortals that wrongs demand repayment. Creation is therefore not a gift but a courtroom, a prison, and an eternal battlefield of judgment.
Structure
The religion is organized as the Triune Tribunal. High Judges speak for Xyrrath and oversee doctrine, Warden-Militants serve Vaulgrin by operating prisons and enforcing oaths, and Red Justiciars serve Seraketh by investigating betrayal and carrying out sanctioned vengeance. Every temple has three chambers: the Hall of Verdicts, the House of Chains, and the Chamber of the Red Oath. Disputes between branches are settled through ritual trials, public binding, or formal blood-price. The faith's highest authority is the Iron Convocation, where one representative of each deity must approve any holy war, mass execution, or divine imprisonment.
Mortal Relations
The faith governs mortal life through fearsome law, ritual punishment, blood-price, and hereditary obligation. Its temples often contain a courtroom dedicated to Xyrrath, a barred sanctuary dedicated to Vaulgrin, and a red-lit oath chamber dedicated to Seraketh. Priests preach that rulers must judge, prisons must hold, and wrongs must be answered. The religion is attractive to societies scarred by war because it promises that no death or betrayal will go unanswered, but it inevitably breeds tyranny, secret police, vendettas, and cycles of sanctioned violence.
Afterlife
The dead enter the Iron Sepulcher, a vast prison beneath the world. There, Xyrrath judges every soul, Vaulgrin chains the unrepentant, and Seraketh permits the worthy dead to hunt those who escaped justice in life. No soul is released until its debts are paid in blood, memory, or service.
