The Sanguine Balance

The entrance is a massive slab of obsidian etched with silver ley-lines that converge on a central scale. Flanking the door are four pedestals, each housing a different apparatus: a silver funnel lined with needles, a dial shaped like a human spine, a curved glass pipe, and an amethyst lens embedded in a brass housing. The air smells of ozone and cold iron, while a faint, rhythmic thrumming vibrates through the stone floor like a slow heartbeat.
