The Scriptorium of the Last Scribe

The chamber smells of stale parchment and cold stone, dominated by a massive circular bronze floor plate divided into three concentric rings. At the center of these rings sits a stone lectern holding a single, unmovable sheet of gold leaf that shimmers with a faint blue light. Above, a crystal chandelier catches ambient glows, casting sharp shadows across hundreds of empty cubbyholes that line the walls, while the heavy bronze plates of the floor rings wait to be turned by those with the strength to move them.
