The Emerald Resonance Gate

A vast cavern opens around a stone gate taller than a house, its face webbed with pulsing emerald crystal veins that crawl like slow lightning beneath the rock. Thick white roots knot across the seams and spill over the floor in braided coils, while four crystalline pillars stand before the gate in a crescent, each humming at a different, uneasy pitch. The air tastes of wet stone and ozone, and every sound seems to linger too long in the chamber, turning footsteps into faint thoughts. When a pillar is struck or magic brushes its surface, its color shifts, its note sharpens or flattens, and the roots at the gate flex as if listening.
