The Eye of the Unseen Tithe
The vault chamber is a cold, octagonal room hewn from black basalt. At the center stands a waist-high stone pedestal surrounded by three concentric bronze rings set into the floor. Glowing purple glyphs are etched into these rings, pulsing with a low, rhythmic thrumming that vibrates in your marrow. A single stone lectern stands near the back wall, holding a scrap of vellum that flickers in an unnatural, cold wind that seems to blow from the floor itself. The smell of copper and old incense hangs heavy, and the shadows in the corners of the room seem to stretch toward the center whenever you move.
