The altar cabinet stands as a monolithic wardrobe of blackened yew wood and ivory inlays, smelling of old parchment and formaldehyde. Three skeletal hands of yellowed bone sprout from the front panel like grotesque door handles, their fingers articulated and twitching slightly. Above the hands, a silver plate is engraved with a rhythmic, macabre verse, while the floor around the altar is stained with the residue of countless dark offerings. When a player approaches, the ambient temperature drops sharply, and the skeletal hands snap into a clenched fist position, waiting for a specific sequence of gestures to be performed.
