The Orbit of the Living Stars
The ceiling of this circular library is a massive dome of polished obsidian, a black void so deep it seems to pull at the light of your torches. Across its surface, thousands of tiny, glowing white insects crawl with mechanical precision, their collective movements mimicking the slow drift of a midnight sky. Below, the floor is an intricate mosaic of brass and silver ley-lines, centering on four adjustable pedestal-lenses. The air smells of cold ozone and ancient vellum, and the only sound is the dry, rhythmic scratching of millions of tiny legs against the stone. When light hits the obsidian, the crawling stars scatter or congregate, reacting to the heat and brightness as if guided by an unseen cosmic clockwork.
