The Tri-Solar Sanctum

Deep in the sanctum, a dome of polished obsidian rises above a floor tiled in concentric brass circles. At the heart stands the Alembic of Aeons, a massive crystalline sphere resting atop a silver tripod, filled with a heavy, unmoving fluid. Surrounding this are three life-sized statues carved from white marble: a child reaching for the sky, a soldier standing at attention with a polished shield, and an elder hunched over a heavy stone tome. Faint rays of natural light pierce through thin vertical slits in the ceiling, casting needle-thin beams that dance across the dust-moted air. The atmosphere smells of ozone and ancient parchment, with a low hum vibrating through the floorboards whenever the light catches a metallic edge.
