The circular room smells of copper and machine oil, with walls lined in intricate, interlocking brass plates. In the center, a massive brass pendulum swings from the ceiling with a hypnotic rhythmic tick, its sharp edge missing the floor by only an inch. Four stone pedestals stand in a semi-circle, each topped with a rotating bronze dial that contains four distinct symbols: a coiled spring, a heavy hammer, a toothed gear, and a small skeleton key.
