The Echoes of the Lunar Glass

The chamber is a wide, circular vault of polished obsidian, where the ceiling has long ago collapsed to reveal the starlit sky above. In the center stands a three-tiered stone pedestal surrounded by three concentric, floating rings of brass, each etched with intricate silver symbols of animals and celestial bodies. A single, focused beam of moonlight descends from the opening, striking a dusty glass lens at the pedestal's peak, but the light scatters into a useless blur across the floor murals. The air is still, smelling of ozone and old parchment, and the only sound is the faint, rhythmic grinding of stone against metal whenever the wind catches the rings.
