The Echoing Bower
You find a circular shrine tucked beneath enormous fern fronds, its pale cedar walls silvered by moonlight and stitched with living moss. Nine animal glyphs form a three-by-three grid, while tiny crystals above them glimmer like trapped fireflies. Three dark stones rest before the wall, and each gives off a different forest call when touched. The air smells of wet leaves and cold rain. Beneath the ordinary sounds of insects and branches, you can just hear a repeating rhythm of three notes, as if the forest itself is trying to remember something.
