The Sentry of Symmetries

The air in the octagonal chamber is dry and smells of burnt cinnamon and old rain. At the center stands a bronze statue of a faceless scholar, arms outstretched with circular plates held aloft by chains. Three crystalline canisters rest on a stone shelf nearby, glowing with shifting internal lights of crimson, azure, and pale grey. Each canister is etched with a distinct geometric glyph. Below the statue's feet, a narrow inscription is carved into the marble floor, its letters filled with silver leaf that glimmers when caught by torchlight. The floor around the statue is polished to a mirror finish, reflecting the dancing elemental light from the vessels.
