The Orrery of the Frozen Serpent
The chamber is a perfect hemisphere of polished obsidian, where thousands of tiny diamonds embedded in the ceiling mimic the constellations of a clear winter night. In the center sits a massive brass orrery, its interlocking rings etched with celestial coordinates that hum with a faint, low-frequency vibration. A lingering scent of ozone and ancient parchment fills the air, while the floor is carved with a compass rose indicating four cardinal directions. Four waist-high pedestals surround the central mechanism, each featuring a slot shaped for a circular lens, though only three lenses are currently visible in the room. The air feels unnaturally cold, intensifying as you approach the central apparatus.
