The Algae-Clogged Nexus

The air inside the source of the Great Spring is thick with the scent of damp metal and rotting vegetation. Massive brass cogs, once shining and precise, are now choked with thick carpets of bioluminescent green algae. Water pulses unevenly through the chamber, accompanied by the erratic thumping of a central clockwork hub that struggles to rotate. Low-frequency vibrations rattle the narrow iron catwalks, which are slick with moisture and slime, stretching across dark pools of swirling sediment.

Discovery

The party discovers the mechanism after descending a service ladder within the Great Spring well house. The area is identified by a series of three interconnected floodgate control stations labeled in Celestial and Gnomish.

MAINTENANCE LOG: UNIT 07 - THE SOURCE

INITIALIZE: Open the Blue Stream to dilute the sludge. Avoid Red until the pipes are clear.
ALIGNMENT: Turn the center wheel to bridge the Eastway. If the gears screech, apply more force.
PURGE: Engaging the Yellow wheel will flush the sludge into the settling pond.
SEAL: Once the hum is constant, throw the Red lever to lock the main spring path.

WARNING: Do not engage Red while Yellow is active unless the hub is perfectly centered.
