The Solar Scale of Oryn

The circular chamber is bathed in a singular, vertical pillar of blinding sunlight that spears down from a cracked dome. Three verdigris-covered bronze basins sit on hydraulic-like pedestals around the central beam, each etched with a different phase of the moon. Dust motes dance in the heat of the light, and three glass crystals are embedded in the far wall, each positioned at a different height: low, middle, and high. A rhythmic, metallic ticking echoes from beneath the floor tiles, sounding like a heart made of gears.
