The Solar Vigil Chamber

Warm sunlight pours through a circular aperture in the ceiling, illuminating a dusty octagonal room smelling of burnt myrrh. At the cardinal points (East, South, West, and North) stand four rotating stone pillars, each etched with four distinct celestial icons. In the center of the room, a heavy bronze floor tile is etched with the faint outline of a square trapdoor, its surface polished smooth by ages of ritual use. Each time a pillar is turned, a heavy mechanical click echoes through the floor, followed by a faint, rhythmic humming from the bronze door.
