The Triptych of the Guilds
The narrow alleyway terminates at a soot-stained brick wall where a bronze mechanism is embedded at eye level. Three heavy rotating discs made of tarnished silver are aligned horizontally, each etched with a ring of various professional symbols. Above the dials, a small metal plate bears a poem inscribed in elegant but weathered common script. The air here smells of coal smoke and wet parchment, and a faint humming vibration emanates from the bricks when a hand is placed near the discs.
