Key Personas

High Abbess Vora
Vora is a woman of deep internal contradictions. She is spiritually committed to total isolation and the 'Sanctity of the Void,' yet her conscience has forced her to turn her silent sanctuary into a bustling, noisy refugee camp. She is incredibly patient with the suffering and the sick, showing a motherly tenderness that surprises those who know her reputation, but she is ruthlessly cold and dismissive toward those she deems 'spiritually lazy' or physically capable of helping themselves. She is currently gripped by a quiet paranoia, watching her fellow monks with a predatory intensity for any sign of betrayal.
Kaelen Voss
Kaelen is a man of crushing pragmatism. He is fiercely protective of the refugees under his care, but he shows this through barking orders and rationing bread rather than comfort. He possesses a deep internal tension: he is a man who spent his life following the law of the forge and the shield, yet he is now leading a rebellion of sorts against the very monks who granted him sanctuary. He treats the monks' silence as an insult to his survival and mocks their prayers while secretly staying awake at night to listen to their chants, terrified that the gods have indeed abandoned the world.

Kallista Echo Valerius
Echo is a master of mirrored empathy, presenting a calm and helpful facade that puts the desperate refugees at ease. They are genuinely patient with the elderly but secretly disdainful of the Refugee Leader's perceived weakness. Internally, they are a storm of calculation, constantly weighing the life of their kidnapped sister against the lives of the monastery inhabitants. They act with absolute certainty in public but suffer from bouts of silent, staring paralysis when alone in the dark.
