Thiara's sister has been kidnapped by the fey court of beauty and the arch fey Eridanthe. She is to take her sister's place in the court. Thiara has been corrupted by the shackled one and is in no shape to help her sister as she is currently working against the party. Her sister's name is Illarien and they were farmers that lived near the player's bastion near Waterdeep.

Contextual Narrative

The Court That Stole a Sister

At the edge of the Waterdeep roads, where the party’s bastion watches over damp fields and honest labor, the night is no longer quiet. Dew gathers in impossible patterns. Apples split open to reveal tiny mirrors. Every dawn brings one more sign that the border between the living world and the fey has thinned to a silk thread, and that thread is pulling toward a single place in the woods where the air smells of roses, rain, and old promises. Illarien, a farmer known for stubborn hands and a steady heart, was taken by the fey court of beauty as if by law rather than violence. The court has declared she must take her sister Thiara’s place, and Thiara herself—twisted by the Shackled One—now works against anyone who would interfere. What looks at first like a rescue quickly becomes a question of names, bargains, and identity: who is truly imprisoned, who is merely bound, and what price will the party pay to return one sister without condemning the other? The path forward can be bright with blades or subtler than breath. The court may be stormed, its customs exploited, its heralds persuaded, or its hidden pact exposed. But every day the party waits, the glamour spreads farther over the fields near their bastion, and the fey’s claim on Illarien grows more complete—until beauty itself becomes a cage.

Glamour over the Furrows

Across the farms and fens near the bastion, fey glamour alters familiar things: reflections linger a heartbeat too long, blossoms bloom in cold weather, and voices sometimes answer from the wrong direction. Travelers feel watched by invisible courtiers whenever they speak a true name.

Quest Objectives

Investigate the strange disappearance of Illarien and trace the fey procession to the court’s hidden crossing near the bastion lands.

The party learns the route to the court, the terms of the abduction, and a way to enter without immediately being overwhelmed by hostile glamour.
If the party ignores the plea or delays too long, Illarien is dressed, crowned, and symbolically renamed in the court; rescuing her becomes far harder, and the surrounding farms begin to fade into dreamlike wasteland.

Discover what the Shackled One has done to Thiara and identify whether she can be redeemed, stalled, or turned against Eridanthe.

The party gains leverage over Thiara: a memory, token, or promise that weakens her hold and opens a betrayal or mercy route.
If the party confronts Thiara without understanding her corruption, she can sabotage their attempts, misdirect them, or alert the court to their approach.

Choose how to resolve the court’s claim: negotiate, duel, deceive, or rescue by force.

Illarien returns, the court’s bargain is altered or broken, and the party earns either a wary fey ally or a dangerous enemy.
If the court remains unchallenged, Eridanthe completes the claim on Illarien and may extend the court’s influence over the bastion and nearby settlements.
