Key Personas

Mara Fenrow
Practical, tired, and unsentimental in public, Mara is all iron edges and measured words when work is being done. In private she is deeply tender, especially toward children, animals, and anyone exhausted by grief. She distrusts charm, but she is not blind to beauty, and that makes the fey more dangerous to her than to most. She grows harsher when frightened, not softer, and when hope appears she becomes strangely meticulous, as if hope were a tool that must be kept oiled.

Serelith Vaun
Serelith is courteous to a fault, but the courtesy is a blade wrapped in silk. They are genuinely capable of tenderness, especially toward the vulnerable, yet they distrust raw emotion and believe mercy should be composed, witnessed, and properly phrased. In calm circumstances they are elegant, patient, and almost kind. Under pressure they become exacting and cold, trading warmth for perfect legality. They admire courage, but only when it arrives in polished form. They can be unexpectedly generous to strangers if it costs the court little, while becoming protective, possessive, and sharp with anyone who reminds them of their former mortal life.
