Gold coins are hammered into icons, and silk is shredded to bandage the self-inflicted wounds of the devoted. At the center of this madness is Julian Vane, a man barely out of his youth but possessed of a voice that sounds like grinding stone and honey. He sits atop a throne made of melted chalices, flanked by his 'Twin Vessels'—two lieutenants who embody the violent extremes of his twisted theology. To enter their territory is to be judged: not by the laws of men, but by the hunger of a forgotten god of avarice that Julian claims to serve.

Sinner's Rest was once St. Joren’s Reach, a beacon for mountain pilgrims. Now, it is a jagged wound on the cliffside. The main cathedral towers are topped with crude ballistae and rotating watch fires. Below the stained glass, training pits are dug into the stone floor where recruits duel with blunted steel. The great hall has been converted into a massive sorting floor for stolen caravan goods destined for the Altar.
