Meadowforged are constructed bodies designed to endure open country. Their frames may be made from bronze ribs, lacquered wood, fired clay, stone joints, braided wire, or combinations of all five. Most have a visible core called a seed-heart, a warm crystal, polished stone, or sealed knot of amber that stores impressions and animating force. Their faces are expressive masks or articulated plates, often shaped with broad brows and deep-set eyes to shield them from glare. Grass, lichen, wildflowers, and dust commonly take root in their seams. Many carry tools as part of their bodies, but no single design is considered more authentic than another.

Meadowforged culture is organized around seasons rather than dynasties. Communities gather for sowing, calving, migration, harvest, and the long repair season when tools and bodies are restored.
