You are the living legacy of the world-shapers, a humanoid vessel for the primordial fury of the wyrms. Born with shimmering scales and an internal forge of elemental power, you carry the weight of an ancient heritage that demands either great leadership or terrible destruction. Whether you seek to rebuild the fallen dragon-empires of old or carve a new destiny away from the shadow of your ancestors, your breath alone can change the tide of history.
Physical Description
Drakon-Scions are towering, muscular humanoids covered in thick, interlocking scales that range from matte obsidian to brilliant metallic gold. They possess elongated muzzles, sharp claws suitable for combat, and a prominent ridge of horns or crests that frame the head like a crown. They lack tails and wings, a biological distinction from their quadrapedal cousins, yet their movements possess a predatory grace. Their eyes are slitted and glow with an inner luminescence corresponding to their elemental affinity, often looking like smoldering coals or polished sapphires.
Society & Culture
Society is organized into meritocratic Great Houses or Khanates where lineage is respected but prowess is required. To a Drakon-Scion, your word is as unbreakable as your scales. They value history, oratory, and the martial arts, often keeping elaborate oral genealogies that can be recited for hours. They view themselves as the rightful stewards of the world, a philosophy that manifests either as a protective shepherd-like leadership or a rigid, tyrannical sense of superiority.
Religion & Alignment
Most Drakon-Scions follow the Path of the Eternal Sun or the Cult of the First Wyrm. They tend toward Lawful alignments, finding comfort in the structure of oaths and hierarchy. While many are genuinely Good, seeking to protect the 'lesser' ancestries, their innate pride and temper can lead them toward a Neutral or even Evil path if they believe their dominance is the only way to ensure order.
Homelands & Architecture
They build their cities in places others find inhospitable. Their architecture features massive open-air amphitheaters, wide boulevards to accommodate their bulk, and structures carved directly into sun-scorched stone. Solar-domes and obsidian pillars are common, designed to capture and amplify the heat of the sun, which they find invigorating.
Relationships With Other Peoples
They get along well with stone-kin and dwarf-like smiths who appreciate fine metallurgy and ancient traditions. They often find the shorter-lived human-folk to be frantic and disorganized, while they view elf-like people with a mixture of respectful rivalry and suspicion regarding their long memories and subtle magics.
