The Cyaans are small forest-born cosmopolitans who treat identity as both inheritance and craft. They are performers, scholars, investigators, diplomats, and unapologetic survivors, equally comfortable in a royal court, a crowded market, or a moonlit grove. A Cyaan rarely asks where someone is from without also wondering what story that person has been forced to tell about themselves.
Physical Description
Cyaans are small, fine-boned humanoids with expressive faces, nimble hands, and large, attentive eyes adapted to the dim green light of the forest canopy. Their skin ranges from warm umber and copper to bronze. Hair commonly grows in unusual natural shades such as those found in humans and elves. Eyes can be brown, blue, green , black,, or silver, and often carries subtle iridescent highlights. Their ears taper slightly, though not enough to define them as an elven people. A Cyaan's most remarkable feature is the shifting clarity of their presence. Their faces do not physically change at will, but posture, voice, gaze, and minute expressions can make them seem like entirely different people. Under strong emotion, faint patterns resembling leaves, script, or star maps appear across their skin. Each Cyaan is also capable of shape changing into a single human form, that they gain at an early childhood age.
Society & Culture
Cyaan society is organized around households, circles, and reputations rather than rigid bloodlines. A household may include relatives, apprentices, adopted outsiders, former rivals, and people who simply became indispensable. Social standing depends on demonstrated competence, generosity, and the ability to move between communities without losing one's principles. Cyaans value performance as a serious civic art. Plays, debates, masquerades, and public storytelling are used to preserve history, resolve disputes, educate children, and test political claims. They are not natural liars by virtue of birth, but they possess an instinctive understanding that every social interaction contains framing, omission, and interpretation.
Religion & Alignment
Cyaan follow the Greatr goddess Ravennah. She has dominion over Charisma, Charm, Grace,, Diplomacy, Creativity, Crafting, Comfort, Illusion and Time. There are many titans and lesser powers that many Cyaan pay homage to as well. The only other deity found in the Cyaan religion is that of Evaleen. However, she is more feared than worshiped she is an Intermediate goddess of Darkness, Intrigue, Shadow and Spiders.
Homelands & Architecture
Cyaan homelands are not isolated villages but magnificent cities of marble or quartz. These are always wonders of construction. Designed for beauty as well as functiionality and defense.. Houses are grown from living ore, joined by suspended walkways, mirrored bridges, and enclosed theaters. Public buildings are designed as layered experiences, with archives hidden behind galleries, council chambers disguised as performance halls, and gardens arranged to encode historical events. A visitor may spend an entire day in a Cyaan city without realizing how often they have crossed from one district into another.
