A metaphysical tollgate that manifests in the Astral Plane when the laws of extradimensional space are violated. It represents the cosmic ledger maintained by Beshaba and Tymora. It prevents trapped creatures from leaving the Silver Void until the balance of luck is restored through a significant, personal loss.

Every 4 hours spent within the presence of the Paradox, each creature must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or take 10 (3d6) psychic damage and gain one level of exhaustion as their sense of self begins to bleed into the silver mist.
If a player chooses Beshaba's aid, the portal opens but the character is marked by misfortune. They suffer a permanent -2 penalty to their Armor Class. This penalty can only be removed by a Wish spell or a direct quest for the goddess herself.
If a player chooses Tymora's aid, the portal opens but the character's future luck is harvested. That character can never again benefit from Advantage on any attack roll, ability check, or saving throw.
The sacrifice must be made willingly. No creature can be forced to take the penalty for another, though the party may debate who should bear the burden.
Traditional teleportation or plane shifting magic used within 500 feet of the Paradox automatically fails unless a sacrifice is made first.
