The Greased Timber-Fall
A rickety-looking bridge over a thirty-foot ravine that has been intentionally sabotaged by bandits to drop travelers into a kill-zone below.

Defenses
Detection
“The bridge consists of old oak planks and thick hempen rope. Several patches of fresh pine wood suggest recent repairs, but these are actually the weakest points of the structure.”
Standard Engagement
Any Medium or larger creature reaching the center point of the bridge.
N/A
The bandits must replace the sabotaged pins and re-apply grease (takes 1 hour).
When the bridge is triggered, the creature on the center span must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the creature falls 30 feet into the ravine, taking 3d6 bludgeoning damage from the fall and 1d10 bludgeoning damage from falling timber. On a success, the creature grabs the edge of the bridge and is hanging.
Any creature attempting to catch themselves or climb back up the ropes has disadvantage on Strength (Athletics) checks due to the lard coating.
The area below the bridge is difficult terrain. Bandits hiding 60 feet away usually wait for the bridge to trigger before attacking with crossboxs.
