Detection
“A 7-foot tall obsidian monolith floating two inches off the ground. Silver runes etched into its surface crawl slowly across the stone like living mercury. The air around it shimmers with a violet hue.”
Standard Engagement
A creature that is not a Construct or Undead enters a 15-foot radius centered on the pylon for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there.
None
The hazard resets automatically as soon as no living creatures are within its radius.
When triggered, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 22 (4d10) force damage and is subjected to the effects of a Slow spell until the start of its next turn. On a success, the creature takes half damage and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of its next turn.
The area within 15 feet of the pylon is difficult terrain for any creature that is not an Undead or a Construct.
The pylon has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
