The Silver Scale of Misfortune
A shimmering, two-sided celestial coin the size of a wagon wheel spins violently at the epicenter of a planar tear. One face radiates the golden warmth of Lady Luck, Tymora, while the other bleeds the cold, dark shadow of the Maid of Misfortune, Beshaba.

Defenses
Detection
“A translucent, rotating disk of astral energy hovering in the silvery void. It alternates between a smiling face surrounded by shamrocks and a pair of jagged black antlers.”
Standard Engagement
Approaching within 15 feet of the spinning disk triggers the trial.
The hazard forces one creature to call 'Heads' (Tymora) or 'Tails' (Beshaba). The DM rolls a d20. On an 11 to 20, the result is Heads. On a 1 to 10, the result is Tails.
The hazard dissipates once the party is transported or if all creatures move more than 100 feet away.
If the player calls the coin toss correctly, the portal glows gold and stabilizes. The party is teleported safely back to their original plane at their previous location. Each creature gains 1d10 temporary hit points and Inspiration.
If the player calls the toss incorrectly, the portal turns obsidian. Each creature within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or take 3d8 psychic damage, taking half on a success. The party is then unceremoniously dumped 1d12 miles away from their intended destination on the Prime Material Plane.
A creature can offer a gem or coin worth at least 100gp to the disk before the toss. Doing so allows the player to roll the d20 for the coin toss twice and choose the preferred result.
