Detection
“The hazard appears as a 5-foot-by-5-foot square of unusually lush, lavender-tinted moss. Under low light, the moss pulses with a very dim, rhythmic blue glow.”
Standard Engagement
A creature enters the hazard's space.
None
The silt settles and the moss crust reforms after 24 hours.
The moss crust ruptures. The triggering creature must attempt a DC 21 Reflex save. On a success, the creature hops to an adjacent unoccupied space. On a failure, the creature falls into the silt, becoming grabbed and exposed to the Slumbering Spores. On a critical failure, the creature is restrained and exposed to the Slumbering Spores. Slumbering Spores (Poison, Incapacitation): A creature exposed must attempt a DC 21 Fortitude save. On a failure, the creature falls unconscious for 1 minute. On a critical failure, the creature falls unconscious for 1 hour. An unconscious creature remains grabbed by the silt until they are woken by an ally or an external effect, at which point they must still Escape (DC 18) to leave the square.
The space occupied by the Slumbering Silt-Vein is difficult terrain for any creature not currently sinking into it. Once triggered, the area remains a muddy pit for 24 hours.
