Detection
“The trees in this area have translucent, glass-like leaves that hum softly in the wind. A thick, iridescent fog clings to the ground, smelling of overly ripe elderberries and ozone.”
Standard Engagement
A creature enters the center of the clearing or attempts to harvest any of the iridescent flora.
(3 actions) On its initiative, the thicket uses its first action to produce Hallucinatory Pollen. It uses its second action for Phantasmal Pathing to disorient its victims. It uses its final action for Prankster's Lash.
The hazard resets after 1 hour of inactivity.
The thicket releases a burst of spores in a 30-foot burst. All creatures must succeed at a DC 25 Fortitude save or become Confused for 1 round (or 1 minute on a critical failure).
The scenery shifts violently. All creatures in the thicket must succeed at a DC 25 Will save. On a failure, they are teleported to a different random square within the hazard's area and are Dazzled for 1 round.
Twisted, multi-colored vines strike at a creature within the thicket. Melee Strike +18 (reach 15 feet), Damage 2d10+12 bludgeoning plus Grab.
Movement within the thicket is non-Euclidean. A creature that moves more than 10 feet must succeed at a DC 23 Survival check or end their movement in the same square they started.
Creatures with the Fey trait are immune to the effects of the Kaleidoscope Thicket.
