Detection
“Dark stone walls with narrow vertical slits every few feet. The opposite wall is marred by deep, star-shaped impact gouges and dried brownish stains.”
Standard Engagement
A creature steps on a hidden pressure plate or fails the puzzle lock governing the corridor entrance.
On its initiative, the trap fires 1d4 additional chains if it has remaining ammunition (12 chains total). Each chain targets a random creature in a 10-foot section of the corridor. Target: +7 to hit, 2d10 piercing damage and the target is Restrained (escape DC 14). While Restrained, the creature takes bleed damage.
The trap must be manually rewound using a heavy iron crank, requiring 1 hour of labor.
A barbed piton slams into the target. On a hit, the creature takes 2d10 piercing damage and is Restrained (DC 14 Athletics or Acrobatics to escape).
A creature that takes damage from the chains begins to bleed out. It takes 1d6 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns until it receives magical healing or a creature uses an action to make a DC 12 Wisdom (Medicine) check to bind the wounds.
The corridor is filled with taut chains. It is Difficult Terrain. A creature that moves more than 5 feet through the web must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check or take 1d6 slashing damage.
