Defenses
Detection
“The archway is made of weathered limestone. Pale blue light flickers within the deep grooves of the carvings when living creatures approach within 10 feet.”
Standard Engagement
A creature passes through the archway without wearing the signet of the Order or speaking the word 'Forgiveness' in Celestial.
None
The ward automatically re-arms itself 24 hours after being triggered.
When triggered, the target must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 22 (4d10) psychic damage and is Restrained by ghostly chains of light. On a success, the target takes half damage and is not Restrained.
A creature Restrained by this hazard is also Cursed. While cursed, the creature has disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws and cannot leave the area of the ruins until the curse is removed via the Remove Curse spell or by performing a deed of selfless sacrifice.
If a character attempts to Dispel the ward and fails the check by 5 or more, they immediately trigger the Psychic Backlash effect on themselves.
