Maw of the Muck-God
A devious, submerged pit trap constructed from the jagged, rusted metal remains of Aevain's old armories. It is designed by the Muck-Thralls to mimic the bite of their god Bablop, seizing intruders and pulling them into the suffocating mud.

Detection
“Hidden beneath a layer of thick duckweed and stagnant water, a circle of curved iron plates is set into a wooden frame. The metal is painted with streaks of rotting purple and green dyes. A small, crude totem of a coiled wyrm stands on a nearby hummock, watching the trap.”
Standard Engagement
The trap triggers when a Small or larger creature steps onto the 5 foot square containing the submerged pressure plate.
None
The trap must be manually reset by a Muck-Thrall using a specialized iron lever.
When the trap is triggered, the target must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 11 (2d10) piercing damage and 7 (2d6) poison damage and is restrained. On a success, the target takes half as much damage and is not restrained.
A creature restrained by the Maw is pulled 2 feet down into the mud. While restrained this way, the creature has disadvantage on Strength checks to escape as the suction of the swamp takes hold.
A restrained creature can use its action to make a DC 14 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to free itself from the iron plates.
The rusted metal is coated in Muck-Thrall filth. A creature that takes poison damage from the trap must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour.
