The Ash-Eater's Crucible
An iron brazier sculpted in the likeness of a roaring efreeti head. Instead of wood, it burns with a dark, oily purple flame that seems to consume the very air and light around it.

Detection
“A three-foot-tall heavy iron pedestal topped with a wide bowl. Smoldering embers inside pulse like a beating heart, and the metal surface is etched with jagged Ignan runes that glow with a dull, sickening heat.”
Standard Engagement
A living creature enters within 20 feet of the crucible.
The crucible has 3 actions. On its initiative, it uses its actions in the following order: (1) Blistering Pulse: The crucible releases a wave of heat. All creatures within 20 feet take 2d6 fire damage (DC 21 basic Reflex save). (2) Soul Siphon: The crucible targets one creature within 30 feet that has already taken fire damage from the crucible this round. The target must attempt a DC 21 Fortitude save or become Slowed 1 for 1 round as its internal body heat is drained. (3) Stoke the Flame: The crucible's flames grow taller, increasing the damage of the Blistering Pulse by 1d6 for the next round (up to a maximum of 5d6).
The hazard resets after 1 hour of inactivity, during which the purple flames dim to a low simmer.
A creature that falls unconscious due to damage from the crucible is afflicted with a curse. While cursed, the creature is Permanently Enfeebled 1 and cannot benefit from any Fire Resistance. This curse can be removed via a Level 3 Remove Curse spell or by drenching the afflicted creature in water from a glacier.
If the crucible takes at least 15 points of Cold damage from a single source, it loses 1 action on its next turn. If it is submerged in water, it cannot use its Soul Siphon action.
